Trying Hard

Over the weekend, I really tried to pay attention to my body cues as to if I was hungry or just thinking I was hungry.

A member in my group mentioned Head Hunger vs. Tummy Hunger and I thought it was brilliant!  So allow me to share.  She explained that Head Hunger comes on quick and it's something that you must have right away, but typically it is just a craving!  If it's Tummy Hunger, then it's physical hunger and you'll have the stomach growling which is a gradual thing that comes on slowly.  While trying my best to watch the cues, I was able to cut out a TON of snacking over the weekend.  I really evaluated if I was actually hungry or thought I was hungry.  Was my stomach growling or did I just see something on the TV that looked delicious?  So, I know that is what WW has been preaching for quite some time, but I guess having it "dummied" down for me really helped me to understand what was actually being said!

On a side note, I tried Fiber One Original Cereal today and it was fantastic!  Now granted it does look like something that you would feed a small animal such as a rabbit or a bird, but it was really tasty and for 1/2 cup it's 0 points!  Plus, it's a filling food!  So, I was happy as could be!  Normally I waste sooooo many points on breakfast to only be starving in a couple of hours.  I was very pleased to have something filling this morning.

I'm really hoping for a "big" loss this week at weigh in, like a full pound.  The past 2 weeks it's been fractions of a pound and that's frustrating!  You work so hard during the week and to step on the scale and have it read .4 that's just heartbreaking.  But, as I have said all along, a loss is a loss and I'll take it!

I've been doing really well with my walking (I don't know how I'll do today, if I can't make it outside, I'll do one of my videos) but Duke and I have been racking up 3 mile walks like it's chump change!  I'm so proud of the both of us!  He really does keep me motivated!  He's such a trooper, it doesn't matter if it's 10 degrees outside or 80, that dog wants to walk!  So of course I feel obligated to walk him.  I can't wait to see what the final count is on the miles walked during the month of January!

Isn't it amazing all the healthy options there are out there? We just have to find them and eat them instead of all the other things we are used to!
